  • Total Time: 55 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in heavy syrup or juice
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a little bit of butter to ensure easy serving later.
  2. Pour both cans of sliced peaches, including the syrup or juice, into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Use a spoon to spread them out into an even layer covering the entire base.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the ground cinnamon and the light brown sugar over the peaches. This enhances the natural sweetness of the fruit and creates a delicious syrup as it bakes.
  4. Open the box of yellow cake mix and sprinkle the dry powder evenly over the top of the peach layer. Use a spatula to gently smooth the surface, but be careful not to stir the peaches into the cake mix.
  5. Slowly pour the melted butter over the entire surface of the dry cake mix. Try to cover as much of the powder as possible. The butter is what reacts with the mix to create the cobbler crust.
  6. Place the dish in the center rack of the oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. The dessert is ready when the topping is a deep golden brown and the peach juices are bubbling around the edges.
