Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (29 oz) cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup (do not drain)
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into thin slices
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a little butter to ensure the fruit doesn’t stick to the sides.
- Pour both cans of sliced peaches, including the syrup, directly into the prepared baking dish. Spread them out into an even layer. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the top of the peaches for a warm, spiced flavor.
- Open the box of yellow cake mix and sprinkle the dry powder evenly over the peaches. Use a spoon or your hands to make sure the cake mix covers the fruit completely, reaching all the way to the edges of the pan. Do not stir the mixture!
- Place the thin slices of butter in a single layer over the top of the dry cake mix. Try to cover as much of the surface area as possible. As the butter melts in the oven, it will combine with the cake mix to create a crisp, cobbler-like crust.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes. The cake is done when the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling up around the edges. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
